Recent Tasting Notes on CellarTracker

  • Tasted by rogerr. Amazing wine drinking beautifully. Balance, texture, length. Got it all. (95 pts.) – Tasted 1/9/2026.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over 2 days. Nice ruby color. Aromas of red fruit and earth. On the palate, forward acid and mature fruit. Hints of rhubarb and other earthy notes. Nice finish. Wine did not fade on day 2. Solid example from the region but not memorable. (89 pts.) – Tasted 1/8/2026.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Agree with recent notes. Drinking well with good acid and balance. Fruit is fading a bit. Drink or hold a few more years. (93 pts.) – Tasted 1/2/2026.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Drinking well but not as enjoyable as the 2020 I tasted. Good tannin and acid structure so I think it will improve with further cellaring. (91 pts.) – Tasted 12/24/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over 2 days. This heritage field blend of known and unknown varietals seems a heterodox approach in this part of Italy. I love the result. A complex, nuanced, wine that delivers intelectual and palate pleasure. Medium boddy with dark red fruits, it has matching acid and tannin backbone. Not heavy on […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. Reaching maturity and presents softened tannins with notes of leather, meat, and dark fruits. (92 pts.) – Tasted 12/14/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. This is a richer, fuller body, style of Barbaresco. Red fruit with balanced tannins. The richness seems a tiny bit "sweet" on first entry but the considerable tannins make the midpalate and finish dry. I appreciate the style as it adds diversity to the DOCG and is a nice pair with richer […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. Similar to my note from 2024-01. This seems fairly mature and I'm not sure if it will improve with additional cellering. (92 pts.) – Tasted 12/4/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Drinking well with virtually no aspects of age. Bright, crisp, with a touch of richness. Nice finish. Probably will improve with age. (91 pts.) – Tasted 11/28/2025.

  • Toscano is now Disneyland
I had not been to Tuscany in 30 years. It’s still beautiful, the food is just as good, but tourism is causing a pernicious form of gentrification. There is only a fixed amount of Toscano but there seems to be more tourists, I suspect, because of the amplification of beautiful things by the maelstrom of… Read More »Toscano is now Disneyland
  • Vietnam ’24
We were part of a group on a bike tour of central Vietnam in March 2024. A video made during our tour by the host, Mr Biker Saigon Some pics and a few videos collected into an iCloud photo album
  • We were interviewed by Nathan…
Nathan’s “I’m Moving To Italy” podcast has been a encouraging lifeline in our process of searching for, buying, and learning how to live in Italy. In July of this year, Natan interviewed us for his podcast. We tell our story from the beginning up to the present and hope it helps others as much as… Read More »We were interviewed by Nathan…
