  • Toscano is now Disneyland
I had not been to Tuscany in 30 years. It’s still beautiful, the food is just as good, but tourism is causing a pernicious form of gentrification. There is only a fixed amount of Toscano but there seems to be more tourists, I suspect, because of the amplification of beautiful things by the maelstrom of… Read More »Toscano is now Disneyland

Nathan’s “I’m Moving To Italy” podcast has been a encouraging lifeline in our process of searching for, buying, and learning how to live in Italy. In July of this year, Natan interviewed us for his podcast. We tell our story from the beginning up to the present and hope it helps others as much as… Read More »We were interviewed by Nathan…

Recent Tasting Notes on CellarTracker

  • Tasted by rogerr. Agree with the recent note by glou.sf. This wine is delightful and drinking beautifully. A standout expression of Nebbiolo. (95 pts.) – Tasted 11/2/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Way too young at this point. Drank over 3 days and the third was the most enjoyable (but still tight!) This is only the second Schioppettino I've ever tasted (the first at a restaurant was Sirch 2018 and was more ready to enjoy.) I'm intrigued by the aromas and flavors of this […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. My first Ar.Pe.Pe experiance. Pine and unripe strawberry aromas. Ruby red. Light to medium body. Cranberry on the palate with pretty good balance of high acid and med + tannins. Probably too young to fully appreciate but still enjoyable and best with food to complement the acid. (90 pts.) – Tasted 10/21/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. light bodied and colored, unripe strawberry and rhubarb notes. this is a nuanced wine that intrigues but falls short of deep engagement for me. drank over 2 evenings it held up well after 24 hours in refrigerated bottle. (91 pts.) – Tasted 9/30/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Popped and poured. Recommend a decant. Not yet in it's prime drinking window IMHO. (92 pts.) – Tasted 9/27/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. PnP. Deep, dark ruby. Intriguing aromatics of dark red fruit with pleasant dash of tertiary notes. On the palate the tannins are almost completely resolved and tha wine is silky. Very pleasant through the long finish. Saved 1/3 for next day and bricking color was noticable along with some oxidation but the […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. Very expressive upon first pour. Ruby red. Prominant aromas and nice texture. Nicely integrated with a fairly smooth texture dispite distinct (and Nebbiolo typical) tannins. Has a nice medium long finish that begs another sip. Drinking well but added a bit more tannic harshness as it opened up in the glass. Drink […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over 2 days. Mature and exhibing secondary and some tertiary notes. Day 2 was a bit more open and expressive. Nevertheless, I'd not age it any further. (90 pts.) – Tasted 8/20/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Drank over 2 days. Bright, layered, and delicious. Day 2 was as good as the first. One of my favorite SBC producers never disapoints. (92 pts.) – Tasted 8/5/2025.
