Recent Tasting Notes on CellarTracker
- Tasted by rogerr. Reaching maturity and presents softened tannins with notes of leather, meat, and dark fruits. (92 pts.) – Tasted 12/14/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. This is a richer, fuller body, style of Barbaresco. Red fruit with balanced tannins. The richness seems a tiny bit "sweet" on first entry but the considerable tannins make the midpalate and finish dry. I appreciate the style as it adds diversity to the DOCG and is a nice pair with richer […]
- Tasted by rogerr. Similar to my note from 2024-01. This seems fairly mature and I'm not sure if it will improve with additional cellering. (92 pts.) – Tasted 12/4/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. Drinking well with virtually no aspects of age. Bright, crisp, with a touch of richness. Nice finish. Probably will improve with age. (91 pts.) – Tasted 11/28/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. From magnum. Drinking well and showing some nice aspects of aging. Tannins still prominent but a bit softened with the years. Developing well. Drink or hold. (93 pts.) – Tasted 11/27/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. Intense aromas of red fruit/strawberry in a custard. Full bodied for a Nebbiolo with forward tannins and good acid balance. Intense on the palate with a long, pleasant, finish. One of the best Barbaresco I have experianced. Day 2 the wine was mostly unchanged but aroma was diminished. Drinking well now but […]
- Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over three days. This is tightly wound currently. Tannins are very forward on the palate. Enjoyable but I think it will improve greatly with a few more years. (90 pts.) – Tasted 11/16/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. Agree with the recent note by glou.sf. This wine is delightful and drinking beautifully. A standout expression of Nebbiolo. (95 pts.) – Tasted 11/2/2025.
- Tasted by rogerr. Way too young at this point. Drank over 3 days and the third was the most enjoyable (but still tight!) This is only the second Schioppettino I've ever tasted (the first at a restaurant was Sirch 2018 and was more ready to enjoy.) I'm intrigued by the aromas and flavors of this […]
