  • Toscano is now Disneyland
I had not been to Tuscany in 30 years. It’s still beautiful, the food is just as good, but tourism is causing a pernicious form of gentrification. There is only a fixed amount of Toscano but there seems to be more tourists, I suspect, because of the amplification of beautiful things by the maelstrom of… Read More »Toscano is now Disneyland

We were part of a group on a bike tour of central Vietnam in March 2024. A video made during our tour by the host, Mr Biker Saigon Some pics and a few videos collected into an iCloud photo album
  • We were interviewed by Nathan…
Nathan’s “I’m Moving To Italy” podcast has been a encouraging lifeline in our process of searching for, buying, and learning how to live in Italy. Recent Tasting Notes on CellarTracker

  • Tasted by rogerr. Very expressive upon first pour. Ruby red. Prominant aromas and nice texture. Nicely integrated with a fairly smooth texture dispite distinct (and Nebbiolo typical) tannins. Has a nice medium long finish that begs another sip. Drinking well but added a bit more tannic harshness as it opened up in the glass. Drink […]
  • Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over 2 days. Mature and exhibing secondary and some tertiary notes. Day 2 was a bit more open and expressive. Nevertheless, I'd not age it any further. (90 pts.) – Tasted 8/20/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Drank over 2 days. Bright, layered, and delicious. Day 2 was as good as the first. One of my favorite SBC producers never disapoints. (92 pts.) – Tasted 8/5/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Enjoyed over 2 days. Classic gamay Beaujolais with little carbonic aspects. Rich for a gamay with good mineral, red current, and some structure. Held up nicely the next day. Similar to bottle consumed 18 months ago. (91 pts.) – Tasted 8/3/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Loved this wine back in 2008. I cellared this bottle as an experiment. Wine is deep amber in color. Secondary and tertiary notes blend well with what is left of the fruit. Wine was thought provoking and enjoyable. Impressive. (91 pts.) – Tasted 8/1/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Dry with nice mineral notes on the palate. Still quite enjoyable with almost no oxidation. Pleasant secondary and tertiary notes. Nice finish. (91 pts.) – Tasted 7/26/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. PnP. Opaque and dense in the glass. Lush mouthfeel with highly extracted fruit. Very full bodied. Saved half for next day and the wine was degraded. Didn't like as much as I expected. (92 pts.) – Tasted 7/23/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Baby Bandol. Fantastic QPR (92 pts.) – Tasted 7/19/2025.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Maybe my bottle was off, but I didn't sense the beauty of recent notes. This came off simple and flat to me. Will update when I open another bottle. (91 pts.) – Tasted 7/18/2025.
